Smashed Potatoes

We have another recipe for you today. This smashed potatoes recipe is inspired by one we saw on TikTok, that is where we learned this amazing technique for some of the tastiest potatoes we have ever had! We added a tzatziki style dip to add some freshness to this dish.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Cooking time: 40 minutes

Portions: 4-6


For smashed potatoes;

500g Baby potatoes

1/4 of a block ofUnsalted butter

Several bulbs of Garlic

4 Shallots

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Lemon and Dill Sea Salt Seasoning

Rosemary, Thyme and Sage Sea Salt Seasoning

4 Rashers or lardons

For the dip;

1 tub of Sour cream


1 Cucumber



First things first, Wash your cucumbers, baby potatoes, and chives.

Place your potatoes into a pan and pour in just enough water to cover them.

Add in a quarter of a block of unsalted butter and roughly four tablespoons of olive oil.

Peel and chopped 5 shallots and add this to the pan.

Add roughly 4 good pinches of Salann Foods Rosemary, Thyme and Sage Sea Salt Seasoning and ground black pepper to the pan. Finally, add lardons or four rashers chopped small into the pan.

Bring the pan to a boil and then turn it down until it simmers.

Stir every now and then so that it doesn't get stuck to the pan. The aim is to boil out the water and just be creamy and buttery. Once the water has gone, smash the potatoes with your spatula, allowing them to fry in the remaining butter and oil

While that boils down, we start on the tzatziki style dip!

In a bowl, add a tub of sour cream, chives cut into small rings, Salann Foods Lemon and Dill Sea Salt Seasoning, 4 minced cloves of garlic and a peeled and grated cucumber all into a bowl and mix together until combined.

Once the potatoes are beautifully fried, serve immediately with some dip and Enjoy!
